We don’t want to sell the house anytime soon, and I know that not everyone will enjoy this. I’m curious to hear other people’s opinions.
The cabinet is sage green, but the photo makes it appear yellow.

Although I don’t detest it, I do sort of detest being behind the stove 🙣
No, no, no. That is ineffective. Apologies.
The concept doesn’t bother me. But why is that behind the stove? Why not in another part of the kitchen? or perhaps a restroom of some kind. Anything is preferable to it appearing out of place and splattered with food particles after cooking.
@Eminem It’s funny that the location behind the stove is causing folks distress. I had never thought about that.
Considering that it is fairly high and well away from the hob, splattering is not an issue. It’s similar to washing a large tile because it’s made of glass.
There is nowhere else, which is the explanation for “why there”! My kitchen is small, and I reside in London.
Do these belong to you?
@Gordon Yes, that is a vacation photo of the kids and I strolling along a beach in Scotland.
@Jordan Delicious. Good stove; if you’re in charge of cooking, that’s your workspace, the kitchen office. This is the ideal location for family portraits. Unlike a desk, however, picture frames don’t topple over and clog those elegant burners. Proceed with the collage backsplash including tile photographs. From my small kitchen to yours, cheers!
It is distinct.
I adore that you made an attempt rather than sticking to what you knew.
Although there are a few small details in the design that I dislike, it’s still good. For example, the two tiny tile segments on either side stand out too much. They are highlighted by the grout’s contrasting tint. I might have experimented with a lighter grout color, such as white, yellow, or perhaps yellow-green.
@Hudson Thank you; that’s fascinating. I will always be able to see those tiny tiles.
More so than the photo conveys, the grout matches it.
Just one more stone in the wall…
My issue is it seems out of place against those tiles
It’s your thing if you enjoy it. That is all. However, if you’re seeking feedback… To make it a little more centered, I would have lowered it by one or two rows.
It really appeals to me! It’s a very smart method to display family photos, which I think is crucial in a home. Since you will be residing there, make the house your own. I had such a great time designing my own room when my parents allowed me do it. Even if an all-white house has a nice look, it is uninteresting.
I enjoy that while using the stove, you can see a “view” of the beach rather than simply tile!
