Kitchen guidance on the pullout drawers for lower cabinets is being redone

They had to remove all of the lower cabinets from my kitchen because of a terrible water leak.

The little drawers, including the silverware drawer, and the facings have been saved.

I’m interested in those wire racks so that all the pans and lids can just slide out because I’m an elderly woman with a poor back. I detest stooping to retrieve my cast-iron Dutch oven.

Something that would tame the pot youngsters appeals to me. Some lovely ones that store cupcake liners and cookie sheets.
To keep small bits contained, some of these have solid bottoms and sides that rise to a few inches.

The challenge I face is knowing how to maximize the choices I make. I’ve been referred by the insurance company to a reputable contractor who can offer some guidance, but he encouraged me to choose what I wanted. The insurance covers the cabinets, but not the extra pull-out drawers, so you will have to pay for those out of yourself.

What are the fundamentals of choosing between wire and solid? What to search for. Things not to do.

So how do you choose items?

Even if you decide to go with a different cabinet company, I would still advise you to check out the Wren Kitchen store if one is located nearby. They seemed to have a wide variety of selections and styles under one roof.

My previous arrangement of storing pots in a cabinet with shelves has been replaced with two spacious pull-out drawers and a cabinet with two slide-out shelves for frying pans. Although the new arrangement is nicer, some room is lost and maintaining order is still necessary to avoid stacking or letting things become untidy. I make a concerted effort not to stack objects on top of one another and store the lid with the pot.
