MDF cabinets in Europe?

Are MDF cabinets the standard in Europe? Our goal is to renovate our kitchen. When making rice, we use the pressure cooker a lot. Are the cabinets constructed of MDF durable? Just concerned that they’ll subsequently swell from absorbing moisture.

Nope, not all European kitchen cabinets are constructed of MDF. If you want a long-lasting solution that complements all current styles, choose acrylic or solid wood cabinets with interchangeable facings. As a European, I would not argue that all European cabinet manufacturers only employ MDF. Europe is a large continent with thousands of distinct cabinet makers who create goods with a wide range of materials, styles, and even colors! Just as they do, I suppose, in, say, the entire world?

However, to respond to your query. Most likely, it’s high pressure MDF, which has a high tolerance. It is difficult for me to envision any cabinet builder working with materials unfit for a kitchen.

No. The majority use MFC (melamine faced chipboard), some use timber and in 25 years of installing kitchens I can only remember fitting one made of MDF.

@Anne Regards! They did mention hdf a few times. What distinguishes utilizing a hardwood veneer from solid maple or birch?

Unknown to me, not all European cabinets are composed of MDF. Since MDF has a rough, inexpensive texture and is quite porous, sealing is required.
