I’ve been looking through this sub and I’ve seen so many badly done remodels. This is really amazing. I was inspired by screen grabs that I took. Congratulations and excellent work!

I adore the countertops and the ceiling-to-floor backsplash! Ignore the crown molding.

The center of your lights over the sink should be on the counter. Right now you have a ton of shadows. In the evening, go stand at the sink and you will see even more shadows of yourself. Additionally, I would add one place above the sink. What kind of lighting is intended above the island?

@Nidal Yes, you are correct—it was a miss. There is currently nothing that can be done about it. It’s true that there are thin cylinder pendants over the island.

Magnificent! Excellent work, however I’d like to see the area that was converted into a kitchen.

@Mitchelle More images from before? Actually, that’s pretty much it. Nothing more than that point of view exists. Eating at a little table against the wall. Also, there are some French doors that lead to the terrace to the left of the sink. The deck was taken down to create a family room. Deck, RIP.

What color stain and wood are the cabinets? I adore it.

@Keller White oak; uncertain about color of stain. The cabinet builder sent us a couple examples after I showed him some pictures of cabinets we liked. To see your final selection on the precise wood, I would strongly advise you to ask them to build an actual cabinet door (not a small plywood or veneer sample).

@Salish Indeed, it’s crucial! I used Kraftmaid twice to accomplish that. It was not the outcome I had hoped for. If I hadn’t received the sample door, I would have made a really bad mistake. These lighter tones of wood treatments don’t seem to be as widespread, in my observation. It’s quite annoying. I’m grateful. Well done!!

One of my dream setups, wow! What a lovely makeover! Is the countertop quartzite?

Your kitchen has completely altered with that hood and backsplash! That idea’s originator is a genius! Excellent work!

@Gordon I’m grateful. The main motivation for the entire endeavor was more room.
