The Ariston kitchen vent hood that I installed may have been installed according to the instructions (with the metal ring thing), but it keeps coming loose when in use.
Do you know how to secure this?

It is best to use a solid, smooth aluminum pipe, as mentioned by the previous poster. A bigger diameter is preferable. Aluminum tape and a few screws will hold it in place. If you need to turn it to reach your exhaust, use an adjustable elbow. If you must make a horizontal run, make sure the pipe slants down slightly toward the hood. Any condensed grease will be able to return to the hood in this way.
@Keller Much appreciated.
Use of that type of vent duct is not advised. The ducting must to be sturdy and have a smooth interior surface. That will only gather gunk. The ridges also considerably reduce airflow.
@Kristen I appreciate your help, but what about the detachment issue? Will that issue be resolved by the solid ducting alone?
@Kristen And if you could, which specific variety would you suggest? because rather than going straight up, my ducting makes a 90-degree angle to the side.
